Frequently Asked Questions

We believe informed patients recover faster. Find clear answers about insurance, surgery recovery, and what to expect during your visit.

Appointments & Insurance

What insurance plans do you accept?
We accept most major insurance providers including Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Medicare, and many others. We recommend calling our office at (347) 509-4470 to verify your specific plan benefits before your visit.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
Most PPO plans do not require a referral. However, if you have an HMO plan, your primary care physician may need to provide one. Please check with your insurance carrier.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring your photo ID, current insurance card, a list of current medications, and any recent X-rays or MRIs if applicable. If you are coming for custom orthotics, bringing your most frequently worn shoes is helpful.

Surgery & Recovery

How fast is recovery from Bunion Surgery?
Using Lapiplasty® 3D Correction, most patients are walking in a protective boot within days of surgery, rather than the weeks required by traditional methods. We create a personalized recovery timeline during your consultation.
Is Hammertoe surgery permanent?
Yes. Hammertoe correction involves surgically straightening the toe joint. Once healed, the toe remains straight, significantly reducing the risk of corns returning.
Where are surgeries performed?
Most minor procedures (ingrown toenails, wart removal) are performed right in our office. Major reconstructive surgeries (Bunions, Fractures) are performed at our affiliated outpatient surgical centers or local hospitals.

Treatments & Services

Does Laser Nail Treatment hurt?
Most patients report a warming sensation but no pain. The laser targets the fungus beneath the nail without damaging the surrounding skin. Anesthesia is generally not required.
Do you offer non-surgical heel pain relief?
Absolutely. Surgery is our last resort. We successfully treat 90% of plantar fasciitis cases using conservative methods like EPAT Shockwave Therapy, custom orthotics, stretching protocols, and anti-inflammatory injections.

Urgent Care

What qualifies as "Urgent Care"?
We prioritize infections, fractures, severe heel pain, and ingrown toenails for same-day appointments at all our NYC locations. If you are in acute pain, please call us to be seen immediately.
Do you see children?
Yes, we offer pediatric foot care for conditions like flat feet, warts, ingrown nails, and intoeing (pigeon toes).

Ready to find relief?

Don't let foot pain wait. Our specialists are ready to help you get back on your feet.
